Education holds the key to success of a society. If a society is to prosper, our students must optimize their potentials and our people must upgrade themselves. We can not do this without education.

Taking into account the initiatives we have been taken forward since 20xx, I think I can say with confidence and pride, that we have put in place the strategy and the infrastructure required for the delivery of quality education. Our priority for the short to the medium term is to sustain the momentum of the Education Reform and to implement the various measures announced.

To begin with, we will make all the preparations that are necessary to implement in 20xx the new academic structure. The three year of senior secondary education will be followed by a four-year undergraduate program starting from 20xx. This is an important structural change which better addresses the diverse needs of our secondary school students, broadens their outlook, reduce the pressure of public examinations and makes learning more rewarding.

Secondly, on professional development, we have scaled up our school-based professional support services with the creation of Education Development Fund in July 20xx. with the concerted effort of principals, teachers and academics,we have successfully launched a number of government funded programs. Together they have rendered support to 442 primary schools and 589 secondary schools in the past two years. This area of work will remain our priority.

Schools today are serving a more heterogeneous student cohort with diverse abilities and needs than they did before. It is important that we provide schools with the necessary resources to cater for students’ needs. It is equally important that schools have a culture of respecting and accommodating individual differences. We will continue to strengthen teacher training programs, to equip our teachers with knowledge and skills to address the specific learning needs of their students.

I want to emphasize that the challenges for the coming years are not just a matter for people in the education sector. In this fast-changing era, schools are not just the only source of information and inspiration for our students. People from all walks of life have a part to play in educating our youngsters. I appeal to the different organizations in our community to exercise their social responsibility, to provide various kinds of resources and cooperate with schools in offering a wide range of activities. Whichever way you wish to contribute, it will be most welcome, because we do need your generous support to help nurture our younger generation.

Finally, I hope our critics will not be disappointed when I say that our priority for the coming years is to sustain and to implement. Although “sustaining” and “implementing” should not carry any surprises, it does not mean that we will not look into initiatives which are more visionary. As the government has openly remarked, we will map out strategies for developing our city into an education hub for the region. This ambition is backed up by the remarkable achievements made by our tertiary institutions in the international arena. By now, three of our universities are ranked as among the top 100 universities in “The Top 100 Global Universities 20xx” in Newsweek International.

Ladies and gentlemen, education is by nature an ongoing process, and so is our endeavor to improve education. We have gone a long way in mapping out a shared vision. We have gone a long way in building for our education arena a strong foundation, a foundation for embracing changes and for sustainable development. Let us learn from, and take heart in, what we have achieved so far and move forward.

my views on receiving education

in my early years, i did not see the value of education.

when i was going on thirteen, i started to run my own shop. from then on, i worked hard to become a successful businessman.

one day i realized the importance of the english language in the business world and started taking night classes.

i was able to communicate well with foreign customers after two years of english study. but i started to feel that, in the long run, having a limited knowledge of english was not enough to make my business successful. i knew that only a well- rounded education could guarantee my success in the future.

when i was eighteen, i had to make a decision to continue doing business or go back to school. there was one obstacle keeping me from getting an advanced education. i had only completed elementary school up to that point. i then went back to senior high school after four months of tutoring in different subjects. being at school for the first time after so many years was somewhat embarrassing because my classmates were at least two or three years younger than i. i concluded that my age did not matter. the important thing was getting into college.

i took the college entrance exams. although my math exam result was only one point below the required score. i never gave up hope. the following year, i took it again and received the highest score in my city. achieving such an amazing result gave me encouragement and courage necessary to continue my education to the next step.

i am now in my second year of college and know that it is never too late to learn. my passion for studying and improving myself will never come to a halt as long as i continue to live.

“live and learn.” is the motto i have adopted. i believe with an education i will succeed. so, if you are wondering whether education is important, don’t hesitate a moment to step up and seize the opportunity.

18岁的时候,我必须在继续从商和重新回学校学习之间做出选择。当时我仅有的小学学历成为我接受高等教育的一大障碍。经过4个月各门功课的恶补,我又回到了高中。多年后再次回到学校,让我有些尴尬。因为我的同班同学至少比我小2至3岁。然而在我看来,年龄不是问题,重要的是能上大学。

我参加了高考。虽然我的数学只比分数线低了一分。但我没有放弃。第二年,我又参加了高考并取得了当地的第一名。得到这样一个令人欣喜的结果,给了我进一步深造的动力和胆量。

现在,我上大学二年级,也知道学无止境。只要我活者,我对学习和自我充实的热情就不会减退。

what college education means to me.

the title of my speech is “what college education means to me”.now reflecting on the past two and half years of my college experience, i come to realize how much it has shaped me.

for me, college education is a marvelous ship-builder who designed me from kneel plates up.

with great vision, college education has equipped me, first with a powerful propeller----the sophisticated knowledge in certain field and wide exposure to other disciplines. by dedicating myself to the engineering courses in the day and immersing myself in the rich banquet of the world literature at night, i’ve amassed the driving force for the future and enriched my soul.

besides, college education has also provided me with a precise compass----the sense of social responsibility. how can i best serve the interest of the public while achieving my self-fulfillment? my one year’s experience as a part-time english teacher has testified: to be valuable to society as well as to find my place, i have to possess some actual strength and the ability to function well in the most challenging situation. amid the hectic schedule that balances club activities, sports, and academic courses, i feel the rhythm and beauty in the intensity of my high-pitched life, knowing that i ’m on the right way.

and more importantly, college education has set up not only single ships, but also fleets with common destinations. by interacting with friends of common beliefs, i’ve acquired skills of relating to other people.

●Word power

Word power deals with different expressions related to computers. By learning rules of word formations, such as adding suffixes to verbs, and adjectives to form abstract nouns, you'll increase your vocabulary more easily.

1. Revise the common suffixes that are used to form adjectives learnt in Unit 1.

2. Compare the following two groups of words. You need to decide which part of speech each word is, and think about the similarities and differences between the two groups.

All the words are nouns, but words in Group1 refer to physical things and those in Group2 refer to ideas, actions, and qualities. The nouns in Group2 are called abstract nouns, and we always use them to say something we cannot see or touch directly.

A concrete noun refers to objects and substances, including people and animals that exist physically. They can be either an uncountable noun or a countable noun.

大家好!我演讲的题目是《传承中华美德弘扬孝道文化》。中华文化源远流长,博大精深,历经五千多年的沧桑时光和历史演变,造就了一个拥有灿烂文化的中国。如今的中国带着丰富多彩的文化元素屹立在世界的东方。

中华民族自古以来都是讲究高尚美德的一个民族,中国有“礼仪之邦”、“文明之邦”的美称。从孔融让梨,到诸葛亮“鞠躬尽瘁死而后已”,再到越王勾践“卧薪尝胆”,以及文天祥“人生自古谁无死,留取丹心照汗青”,这一连串脍炙人口的美德故事,都无一不体现出了拥有高尚的传统美德对一个人来说是多么的重要。

国学中有一部《弟子规》,它这样讲:“弟子规圣人训首孝悌次谨信泛爱众而亲仁有余力则学文。”这一段话的意思是在日常的生活中,首先要做到孝顺父母,友爱兄弟姐妹,言语行为中要小心谨慎,要讲信用,和他人相处时要平等博爱,并且向有仁德的人学习,在做了这些事情以后,如果还有时间,就应该好好的学习有益的学问。它告诉我们,做人,最重要是孝。“百善孝为先,孝为德之本”说的就是这个道理。

在我们的身边也发生过扣人心弦的感动故事。有那么一个人,被称为“最美的女孩”,并不是她长得有多么的美丽漂亮,而是她任劳任怨照顾自己的养母十几年,这个女孩叫做孟佩杰。孟佩杰生长在农村,在她五岁时父亲因车祸去世,母亲因为生活艰难,不得已将她送给了别人。,养母患上了疾病,只能瘫痪在床,养父无法忍受生活困境悄然离家出走。从那时起,年仅8岁的孟佩杰便开始承担起照顾瘫痪养母的重担,用孝心和毅力支撑起了这个风雨飘摇的家。孟佩杰初中毕业时,为了照顾养母,孟佩杰主动选择就近的学院学习。在学院学习过后,学校安排孟佩杰到外地读书,孟佩杰毅然决定带养母去上学,依旧不离不弃悉心照顾养母。孟佩杰十几年来,4000多个日日夜夜,知孝感恩、无怨无悔照顾养母的事迹感动了无数人。

俗话说:“羊有跪乳之恩,鸦有反哺之义。”孟佩杰与养母并没有血缘关系,

她还能这么悉心孝敬养母,同学们,我们对待自己的父母呢?双休日,父母下班回来,能递上一杯热水没有?能扫地,整理房间没有?在学校,能认真学习,用进步的成绩回报父母没有?自己做事情不好或做错了,父母指责,恭敬聆听没有???同学们,孝顺父母,不难做到。只要我们有感恩的心,听父母师长的教诲,从小事做起,我们也可以成为孝子,报答父母之恩。

中华民族的文化精神源远流长。中华民族五千年来,讲究的是:仁、义、礼、智、信。仅仅五个字,就表达出了中华民族对文化精神的观念。

仁即仁义,义即道义,礼即礼节,智即智慧,信即诚信,简单易懂的五个字大家知道,却在思想意识里越来越淡薄,大人的行为习惯越来越不能给我们做出标榜,闯红灯,不走斑马线等不良行为侵袭着我们的视线,但幸运的是国家现在非常重视经典文化,大街小巷都张贴着孝、勤、礼等传统美德,公交车上也有24孝的经典小故事,越来越多的优良传统,不时的映入我们的眼帘。

并且现在从小学生开始学习国学,传统文化,孔孟思想等,让中华的文化精神再次得到颂扬并发扬光大,从古代我们的先贤孔子就不时的警戒后人要懂仁义、理智信。作为一名当代小学生我因该积极学习科学文化知识,传承民族文化,说好每一句话,做好每一件事,以仁、义、礼、智、信五字为原则严格要求自己,做好自己能做好的每一个细节。

我相信通过我们不断的努力学习,应用到实践,我们的中国大家庭会重拾传统美德,在科技发达现代化的基础上,更好的传承我们的民族文化,我们的家园会越来越美好越来越强大的。

大家早上好!我是来自高一十一班的姚思远,今天,我演讲的题目是《坚守文化自信,你我同舟共济》。

形成于西汉时期的“秦砖汉瓦”,代表着汉民族传统建筑文化风格,于中国,琉璃瓦代表历史的华丽;于世界,琉璃瓦代表中国的光泽。在刚刚结束的素有“设计界的奥斯卡奖”之称的德国iF设计奖评选中,汉能的汉瓦把传统外形与节能减排完美结合,运用薄膜太阳能技术,基本实现建筑所需能源的自给自足,它从全球50多个国家的6375件作品中脱颖而出,获得金奖。中国元素、中国设计不仅促使中国传统文化进一步回归,更走上了文化输送国外的大道。杨丽萍以舞蹈演绎非物质文化遗产,应邀走遍了50多个国家和地区,所到之处无不掀起一阵中华民族舞蹈风潮;孔子学院截至12月31日,全球154个国家(地区)建立了548所孔子学院和1193个孔子课堂,孔子学院已不再是简单的教授汉语,更是国与国之间合作的纽带,现在的中国正以更加自信的姿态与世界文明对话。

文化是一个国家一个民族的根源,文化自信更是一个国家一个民族对自身文化价值的充分肯定。

经常说一个人是文化人,什么人才算得上文化人呢?梁晓声给了我一个明确的表述,那便是拥有植根于内心的修养,无需提醒的自觉,以约束为前提的自由,为别人着想的善良。原来,学习知识不一定算得上文化人。古代常以玉比君子,说君子像玉石一样温润,光华内敛,谦和守下,不咄咄逼人,而现代人读书是学知识,很多人脾气暴躁,情绪比逻辑来得快,脾气比涵养少的多。我想这样的人读书再多,也不能算有文化。

校园里见到老师问好,图书馆等公共场合不大喊大叫,这是一种修养;每天按时完成作业,认真负责打扫教室和宿舍卫生,不会想方设法带智能机进学校,争创文明班集体,这未尝不是一种自觉;哲学将自由定义为是在主体与其相对的客体矛盾中实现的,对于我们而言,明白什么是完全自由,什么是思想之自由,行为之自觉也就懂得了这个道理。其实,文化不远,他已经渗透在我们生活的方方面面中,不知大家都做到了吗?

梁启超说:“青年人惟盛气也,故豪壮。惟豪壮也,故冒险。惟冒险也,故能造世界。”我们唯有不断发愤图强、弘扬正气,学习新文化、争做文化人,才能不断增强自身文化,提升文化自信,让中华文化绵延不绝、历久弥新,彰显出更强大的生命力和创造力!

因为我们中国最著名的经典之一——茶,所以中国有很浓厚的茶文化。中国地广物博,所以我们的茶的种类也是必须很多的,下头就让我来为大家介绍几种名茶吧!

第一种名茶:西湖龙井。这种茶居中国茶之冠,生产在杭州西湖畔的高山之中。在杭州,不仅仅西湖美,这种茶更美。西湖龙井有四百年的历史了。龙井茶外形扁平俊秀,泡后香气清高持久,喝后令人回味无穷。

第二种名茶:洞庭碧螺春。洞庭碧螺春是我国最著名的绿茶之一,它产于冬暖夏凉、空气清新的江苏省吴县太湖洞庭山。碧螺春条条纤细,卷曲成螺,穿着一层茸毛,泡后清香芬芳。第三种名茶:安溪铁观音。它是茶中之王,出生在雍正年间。如果想得一壶好的铁观音,就必须经过晒青、凉青、做青(摇青一摊置)、炒青、揉捻、初培、复培、复包揉、文火慢烤、拣簸等工序才制成成品。

这些名茶让茶文化诞生,茶文化是品评技法、艺术操作手段的鉴赏,品茗完美环境、领略等多种品茶过程。茶文化不仅仅是中国的经典文化,在世界其他国家影响也很大,每年都有很多的外国游客到中国品茶。你想呀,全世界的人一齐来品茶,大家会彼此更了解并且成为好朋友。

我们有那么好的茶文化是因为有勤劳智慧的中国人,这些中国人是世界上最机智的人。所以我们中国也是四大礼貌古国之一。正因为这样,所以我们更加要好好学习,继续传承并发扬中国的优秀文化。
